For Kate and Matt there were so many adjustments that had to be made to their original wedding plans, thanks to COVID. And if that wasn’t enough… just days before the event they had to make even more changes due to the weather, which was threatening to dampen their plans for an outdoor wedding ceremony. And of course, it poured rain, just as the weather network had predicted.
So our plans to host a romantic ceremony under the Wakefield Grand’s long pergola entrance weren’t going to happen. Instead, we transformed a small tent into a dreamy ceremony space with lots of drape, greenery, and white blooms. It made for a really beautiful and unique experience.
The renowned photographers, Joel and Justyna, captured the day epically. That final photo, of the empty tent after everyone had gone off to bed, is the most beautiful way to remember this wedding and so many of the 2020 events that have come and gone. In spite of the chaos, the planning, replanning, and constant pivoting, we’re moving ahead with life… and all the chaos will pass… but, if we play our cards right, the memories we’ll be left with will be priceless.
